Standard High School Diploma 

A high school diploma is the first step to going to college and preparing for careers.

Options to Earn Your High School Diploma

Florida students can earn a standard high school diploma by completing one of the following programs:

  • 24 Credit Program, which requires four credits each in English Language Arts and Math, three credits each in Science and Social Studies, one credit in Fine and Preforming Arts, Speech and Debate, or Practice Arts, on credit Physical Education, eight credits in Electives, and one Online Course.
  • 18 Credit Academically Challenging Curriculum to Enhance Learning (ACCEL), which requires the same courses as the 24 Credit Program except a student only needs three Electives and Physical Education and an Online Course are not required.
  • Career and Technical Education (CTE) Pathway, 18 credits are required, four credits each in English Language Arts and Math, three credits each in Science and Social Studies, four Electives, Fine and Preforming Arts, Speech and Debate, or Practice Arts, Physical Education, and an Online Course are not required.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) or Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE), which are rigorous college preparatory programs offered at some schools.
